2022 Timeline
Partnership with Michigan Radio
LCC and Michigan Radio launched a formalized management agreement bringing public radio programming, including popular shows like “Marketplace”, “BBC Newshour” and “Stateside,” to WLNZ 89.7 FM in addition to providing LCC with the opportunity to continue airing locally produced programming on Saturdays at 1 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m.
LCC Connect is Born
Under the newly formed partnership with Michigan Radio, LCC began designing a new, 24/7, on-demand chapter of existence with the launch of LCC Connect. Created to be a platform presenting the voices, vibes and vision of LCC through original content and engaging conversations.
1st LCC Connect Shows Launch
LCC Connect went on the air for the first time on January 8, 2022 with five new shows: The Safety Plan, Alumni Stories, Galaxy Forum, At Home with Economics and Who’s That Star? The shows were also made available online at lcc.edu/connect.

LCC Connect launched the first ever Podcast Power-Up Contest for LCC students to share their voice and vibe on-air and on-demand! The contest was open to all current LCC students!

17k Hours Vibing in August
LCC Connect had a big month in August 2022 with 17,343 total listener hours across 14 countries. That’s a combined 2 years, 2 days, 14 hours and 39 minutes that people spent listening to our station!
LCC Connect Launches 1st Student Show
In November 2022, It's Brittany B! recorded its first episode! Brittany Pier is an LCC student and one of the winners of the first ever Podcast Power-Up Contest.
