Conversations with Kate

Chatting is what makes us human! It’s all about finding that sweet spot where we connect by sharing some laughs, some tears, as well as taking that deep dive into better understanding ourselves and each other. That’s the vibe of “Conversations with Kate”—a podcast all about connecting with others through music, life stories, experiences, and everything in between. Sometimes Kate’s flying solo, and sometimes she has a cool guest hanging out, but it’s always like chillin’ with your besties, your fav hairstylist, or a close confidant. So, kick back, grab a snack, and join the conversation...with Kate!

What to know about me? Here it is in a nutshell...

Let’s start with my family. I have a son, a daughter, and a granddaughter. I also have four siblings, one older and three younger, all brothers. My mother was a skilled watercolor and acrylic painter, while my father is a very talented singer-songwriter. I’ve been a hairstylist for two decades and since 2018, I have been working at a Mid-Michigan salon. As for education, in addition to earning several certifications as a cosmetologist, I also have an Associate of Arts from Seminole State College with minors in music and art. Recently, I returned to school at Lansing Community College and am pursuing an Associate of Science in Music Education and Music Therapy at Lansing Community College. Music is a passion of mine, so it may come as no surprise that I’ve spent a lot of my time as a DJ. In 2012, I started hosting a radio show called Sistamiatic Sessions on an internet radio station called Gremlin Radio. Two years later, I created a new show called Halcyon Radio which aired for six years, first on WPRK-91.5FM in Orlando, Florida, and then after moving to Michigan, I continued the program on WLNZ-89.7FM in Lansing. Outside of that, I love comedy, a good TV series to watch, painting with acrylics, I am a coffee connoisseur and a little bit of a foodie.
