Members from our Police Department and Information Technology divisions discuss the many ways we are able to thwart attacks both on campus and virtually and what the meanings of security and privacy really are.

Paul H Schwartz is the Director of Information Security at Lansing Community College (LCC) and is responsible for all aspects of Network and Information Security, to protect LCC from internal and external threats, including the development and enforcement of Security Policy and the design, deployment, administration and coordination of electronic security systems (FW/IDS/IPS, Security/Vulnerability assessment). Paul recently retired from the Air Force with the rank of Lt. Colonel and has moved to the mid-Michigan area with his family after serving our country around the world for 20 years in information security and IT leadership roles. Paul has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Iowa State University, a Master's degree in Human Resource Management from Troy University, an MBA from Webster University, and started a PhD in Public Policy and Administration at the University of Alabama. Additionally, he has CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate-Cyber Ops, and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) credentials.
