You are Invited!

You are Invited! is not just a podcast about enjoying and celebrating diversity; nor is it just about equity or inclusion or belonging. It is about YOU being desired to join the Lansing Community College Family. It is an open invitation to ‘come on in’. Why? Because you occupy a space in a world of over 8 billion people that no one else can fill! Therefore, we invite you to ‘share you’ with us so that we can celebrate the unique and unduplicable human you are.
The Host

Dr. Dan functioned within the areas of Business, Leadership, Mediation, International Affairs, Diplomacy, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Education, both Corporate & Academic including profit & non-profit institutions. She coordinated Federal Government Grant activities. She served as President, Vice President of Operations, Education & Regional Developer, Dean of Academic Affairs, Chief Diversity Officer and Professor of Leadership & Business. She led global online education and corporate training for 53 countries. The most rewarding for her has been her Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging journey as she saw the value of empowering many through diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. To this end, she is committed to transforming her corner of the world through a redefining of diversity that results in love, respect and support for all human beings.
She started to embrace diversity at the tender age of 5 when she started her global travels that continued into her adulthood through her professional and mission work. Today, her entire Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging work stands on the words of one of her icons, Mother Teresa, ‘“If you judge people, you have no time to love them” and her daily work rests on her personal philosophy, “Nothing happens sustainably in life outside of sincere relationships.” Dr. Dan is pleased to continue her Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging mission through Lansing Community College where it is truly about a desired DEI and not a required DEI from the President’s desk all the way through the entire LCC Community. Her deep desire is for LCC to be a shining Beacon of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging work where its rays illuminate and transform lives globally starting from within its campuses to the rest of the world.
