Lansing Community College has agreements with Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) and the Society of European Songwriters, Artists and Composers (SESAC).
These agreements allow LCC faculty, students, and staff to play or perform music at College functions.

Check the BMI Catalog to see if the music you would like to play or perform at your event is covered by this license.
The College's agreement with BMI grants permission for LCC faculty, students and staff to perform or play (by live or recorded means) any music in the BMI catalog at public events on College premises, including, but not limited to performances by or at: Sporting events, Socials, Musical attractions; Campus radio broadcasting stations; Student Commons Areas; College performing arts and theater groups; Fitness centers; Classrooms; On-Campus, LCC hosted fairs/festivals; Athletic facilities; and special events such as orientation or graduation.
ASCAP

SESAC
Check the SESAC Catalog to see if the music you would like to play or perform at your event is covered by this license.
The College's agreement with SESAC grants permission for LCC faculty, students, and staff to perform or play (by live or recorded means) any music in the SESAC catalog at public events on College premises, including broadcast on LCC radio stations, and closed-circuit transmissions within LCC locations.
Agreements do not cover Musical events on campus sponsored by outside promoters or transmissions to persons outside the premises via telecasting or transmission by wire or otherwise, (does not apply to WLNZ).
Posting Music on the Web or Social Media
LCC's music licenses do not cover music posted by members of the LCC Community on the web or social media. There is a different, lengthy, and sometimes costly, process if you want to post or use music in videos or on a website or social media. These licenses must be obtained from the person or entity that owns the rights to that music.
Please work with LCC Media Services when music is needed for internal LCC videos or projects that will be posted on the web or social media.
