Occupational and Environmental Safety (OES) offers training on a wide range of topics is provided through LMS. Depending upon an individual's exposure to hazards, many of these courses are required, either initially or annually, by federal, state, or local safety and environmental regulations.

Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that each new employee, whether temporary or permanent, completes new employee orientation and receives the appropriate safety training at the start of employment. Supervisors are also responsible for ensuring that all of their employees receive the necessary safety training based on the work that their employees perform. Division, department, or program-specific safety and environmental training are to be conducted by the supervisor before the assignment of work or a task.
