The overall goal of the Center for Veteran and Family Support (CVFS) is to achieve the position and prestige of being the #1 Veteran-oriented campus in Michigan. The mission of the office is to provide a one-stop-shop atmosphere for our veteran and dependent students with the main goal being to assist our students in selecting the proper VA GI Bill® education benefit and help them enroll in a chosen GI Bill® benefit. The CVFS also acts as a liaison between students, the VA, and other LCC departments; making contacts on behalf of students when needed. We also offer a dedicated academic advisor, and a large veteran lounge area as a place for veteran students to meet, relax, and work on school work.

Military-Connected Student Admissions
The Veteran Affairs staff is available to assist you with questions you may have about your educational benefits. We will also certify your enrollment to the Department of Veterans Affairs once you have enrolled in courses included in one of the approximately 600 degree and transfer programs offered at Lansing Community College.

Resource Center
The Veterans Resource Center (VRC) was created with you in mind! The Center includes a dedicated computer lab, lounge with big screen TV and XBOX One, a study room, and more!
Veterans Memorial
The Veteran's Memorial was developed to honor Michigan veterans, with a special emphasis on those in Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton counties. Local veterans who served with distinction may be nominated for induction into the memorial.

LCC has been named a Michigan Veteran Friendly School since the program began in 2016. The Michigan Veteran-Friendly Schools Program recognizes academic institutions committed to supporting the needs of veterans and military-connected students. These institutions are awarded Gold-, Silver-, and Bronze-level status based on their veteran-centric services and programs.
Veteran Connector Program
LCC has been designated as a Veteran Connector institution by the Michigan Veteran Affairs Agency, through the Michigan Governor’s Challenge Program. As a Veteran Connector we are committed to helping our veterans and other military-connected students seek the services they need, whether it is federal, state, or local, specifically in times of crisis. We can help connect you to the right people!
Your Benefits
From standard financial aid to the many military benefits programs, our office of Veterans Services can guide you through this process so that your college experience begins seamlessly.
Veteran Emergency Fund
LCC offers a Veteran Emergency Fund through the LCC Foundation Office in order to help our veterans and veteran dependents who are in financial need. Funds can be given to students to help them with many different needs, including: rent payments, utilities, groceries, gas, books/supplies, insurance, etc. We can provide up to $200 per request, but we ask our students to repay the funds when they can during the semester, order for us to help the next student in need. A request form, W9 form, and repayment agreement need to be completed in order to receive the funds. Contact Andrew Cosgrove for more information.
