Open Gym at LCC is a 'recess' for students, faculty, staff and alumni to enjoy the many benefits of physical and recreational activity. Taking place in the Gannon Gymnasium, located on the 3rd floor of the Gannon Building on the Downtown Campus, Open Gym is for everyone in the LCC community! Shoot hoops, play 5-on-5 games, get your steps in by walking/running the gym or even learn basketball skills and drills from LCC's Hall-of-Fame Coach Mike Ingram!

Open Gym Information

  • Info/Hours

    Open gym is open to all current LCC students, faculty, and staff as well as former students with a valid LCC alumni card (which can be obtained through the LCC Police Department). Open Gym is intended to help improve the LCC community's physical well-being and provide fun competition and camaraderie.

    10 a.m. – Noon, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays

    To enter, all must present their LCC STAR Card and sign our activity waiver.

    All necessary sports equipment will be provided.

  • Alumni Access

    LCC Alumni are welcome to participate in Open Gym! Similar to entering the Fitness Centers and Weight Room, all individuals must be in good standing with Lansing Community College. This includes but is not limited to having no holds on accounts.

    To qualify as an alumni, you must have previously taken a minimum of one credit.

    Alumni must be registered through the Alumni Association in order to acquire a STAR Card from the LCC Police Department.

  • Guidelines

    • All participants must be a current student, staff, or faculty member. To qualify as an alumni, you must have previously taken a minimum of one credit.
    • All participants must have a signed liability waiver on file.
    • All participants must wear appropriate gym attire and footwear.
    • Profanity, excessive loud and/or suggestive language, and sexual harassment are strongly prohibited.

Coach Ingram

Open Gym at LCC is led by LCC's Hall-of-Fame head men's basketball coach Mike Ingram. Coach Ingram will offer hands-on training, using 30+ years of coaching experience and training in basketball, outlining and teaching various skills and drills, and will organize competitive games and activities across two courts for all participants.
