Lansing Community College

Business Operations encompasses oversight of activities essential to the daily performance of Lansing Community College. Senior Vice President Seleana Samuel manages a business operations leadership team that includes: J.R. Beauboeuf, director of risk management and legal services; Bentrelle Carroll, director of compliance; Samantha Gallimore, purchasing director; Bill Garlick, chief information officer; Chris MacKersie, executive director of administrative services; Bruce Mackley, director of marketing; Chelsea Ditz, human resources executive director; and, Marilyn Twine, director of public relations.

Dr. Seleana SamuelDr. Seleana Samuel has served as senior vice president since her unanimous appointment by the Board of Trustees in July 2020. Before acceding to her current appointment, Samuel was LCC's purchasing director from 2013. Before arriving at LCC, Samuel worked in the central procurement office at the State of Michigan and at various automotive companies in a similar capacity.

Dr. Samuel's contributions to higher education extend to the classroom. From 2018 through 2020, she was a teaching fellow with Ferris State University's doctorate in community college leadership program. In addition, Samuel was an elected board member for the National Procurement Institute from 2019-2021, and is a past president of the Michigan Public Purchasing Association. Currently, Dr. Samuel serves on the Executive Board of Directors for MI ACE Women's Network.

Dr. Samuel completed her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University through the Eli Broad College of Business and her graduate degrees from both Spring Arbor University and Ferris State University.

Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President

Amber Stairs enters this role as a highly-skilled Administrative Professional whose expertise spans over a decade, with a concentration in nonprofit development, marketing, and organizational structures. Previously, she spent two years moving the college forward in our annual fundraising efforts as the Development Coordinator for the Lansing Community College Foundation.

Prior to the Foundation, Amber held the position as the Director of Development with Haven House of East Lansing, Michigan where she supported organizational goals and development with essential fundraising. Her career began as part of the Executive Team for Dean Transportation assisting in managing daily operations, overseeing project planning and execution, and was instrumental in various marketing initiatives.

Amber is an Alumna of Lansing Community College accomplishing her Associate of Arts in Psychology and Sociology, before going on to receive her Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies from Siena Heights University. Her professional interests continue to focus on organizational dynamics.

She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), American Marketing Association (AMA), and the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP).

Amber proudly serves on the Executive Committee of the LCC ACE Women's Network as an Institutional Representative.
