Lansing Community College

Lansing Community College partners with one of Michigan's leading construction equipment companies and is accredited by a national industry organization, so our Heavy Equipment Repair Technician graduates are career-ready with the skills, knowledge and experience desired by industry employers. However, these employers often struggle to find enough qualified workers to troubleshoot and maintain their large equipment fleets leaving a large demand for highly skilled heavy equipment repair technicians.

AIS Construction Equipment Corp. and Training Center

To meet these employers' demands, LCC and AIS Construction Equipment, one of the area's premier heavy equipment suppliers, have teamed up to offer students some of the best heavy equipment repair training in the region.

This program's "classroom" is located at the AIS Training Facility, where students learn practical techniques in real-world scenarios on the latest equipment and technology used in today's construction environments. Students will master hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and engine repair, and they are assigned an engine to tear down and rebuild as they complete coursework.

Associated Equipment Distribution Foundation

Additionally, the program is accredited by the Associated Equipment Distribution Foundation (AEDF), a non-profit affiliated with the international trade association for equipment distributors, manufacturers and service providers. This organization accredits postsecondary educational institutions, ensuring their curriculum aligns with local, national, and global industry standards, and is actively addressing the serious shortage of skilled professionals in the equipment distribution industry.
