All students are required to take the Title IX and Sexual Misconduct Training in D2L every year. Start your summer semester off right by getting your 30-minute training finished early. You’ll learn your rights as a student, the college’s Title IX policy, how to file a complaint, as well as information on sexual harassment and assault, consent, stalking, and dating and domestic violence.

Please note: This is an annual training. If you completed it during fall 2022 or spring 2023, you do not need to complete it again at this time.
Title IX and non-discrimination notice
LCC provides equal opportunity for all persons and prohibits discriminatory practices

Title IX is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis
of sex in education programs and activities. In accordance with Title IX of the Education
Amendments, LCC prohibits sex discrimination, including sexual misconduct and sexual
harassment. Sexual harassment is conduct on the basis of sex that satisfies one or
more of the following: (1) An employee of LCC conditioning the provision of an aid,
benefit or service of LCC on an individual’s participation in unwelcome sexual conduct;
(2) Unwelcome conduct determined by a reasonable person to be so severe, pervasive
and objectively offensive that it effectively denies a person equal access to LCC’s
education program or activity; or (3) Instances of sexual assault, dating violence,
domestic violence or stalking.
All students, employees and third parties are encouraged to report all incidences
of sexual harassment and misconduct. Reports of sexual misconduct or sexual harassment
may be made to the Title IX coordinator, to the college, to law enforcement, to any
of those or to none of those. A report may also be submitted to LCC Police Department, the Executive Director of Human Resources or any member of the Executive Leadership Team. Anyone experiencing unlawful discrimination or harassment can also file a complaint
with other agencies, whether or not they have chosen to do so with the college or
with law enforcement.
A complainant may submit a report to the Title IX coordinator in person, by phone, by mail, by email or through electronic form: Complaint against a student or Complaint against an employee. A formal complaint made under Title IX should also include a statement on the part of the complainant as to whether the complainant requests the college to commence an investigation into the alleged matter. Supportive measures are available to individuals regardless of whether they file a formal complaint.
