Celebrate Juneteenth in Lansing

LCC is a proud sponsor of Lansing’s 30th Annual Juneteenth Celebration! All events are open to the public, and we hope you’ll be able to attend.

 

Saturday, June 10

Noon: Juneteenth Community Ballgame at Benjamin Davis Park, 5500 Pleasant Grove Road in Lansing.

 

Thursday, June 15

5:30 p.m.: Kick-off Ceremony in the Gannon Building’s Michigan Room. The keynote speaker is Michigan Supreme Court Justice Kyra Harris Bolden, and the event will feature community performers and presenters. The winners of the Mr. Cordell Henderson Essay Competition & Scholarship Program will be announced.

 

Friday, June 16

4-8 p.m.: Freedom Festival at St. Joseph Park, 2125 W. Hillsdale in Lansing.

 

Saturday, June 17

8:30 a.m.: Juneteenth Run/Walk/Roll 5K at J.W. Sexton High School.

11 a.m.: African American Parade, starting at the J.W. Sexton High School (front entrance) and ending at St. Joseph Park.

11 a.m.-3 p.m.: Juneteenth/NAACP Job Fair at St. Joseph Park. LCC’s Human Resources is participating!

11 a.m.-3 p.m.: Health Fair at St. Joseph Park. LCC’s Health & Human Services Division will be there.
