Lansing Community College

LCC's Electrical program offers a specialized degree or certificate for Electrical Utility/Lineworkers. If you enjoy being outdoors, staying fit, and working at heights - this program may be your perfect match!

The Lineworker Program involves a selective admissions process. You must submit an application to be accepted into the program. This initial application will be screened and scored based on a wide variety of items such as work experience, educational background, your physical ability, performance in an initial pole climb, driving records and criminal history.

Once you have been accepted into the program, you will complete 13 months of intensive coursework consisting of a four day Utility Lineworker orientation, two semesters of academic courses, and a 10-Week climbing school conducted at a utility training center.

Successful completion of this program will prepare you to enter lineworker apprenticeships with utility companies, or other occupations that require similar skills.
