ASL Skills Assessments:

If you have previous experience with American Sign Language (ASL), you may request a Skills Assessment by emailing signadvising@lcc.edu This assessment will evaluate your linguistic competence in ASL. Linguistic competence is decided based on knowledge and use of ASL vocabulary, lexicon, syntax, fingerspelling, space, non-manual signals, and conversational markers. We recommend that candidates have a minimum of 1 year, or 12 credits, of formal ASL study (documented at the post-secondary level) before requesting a Skills Assessment.
