When the General Education Core is required for degree completion, students only need to take one course from each of the following five Core areas:

  • Communication
  • Global Perspectives and Diversity
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Writing

When choosing your General Education Core courses, please be aware that the selection of courses available to meet the Core is based on your curriculum guide. If you are following a 2014 curriculum guide, you may select courses that were available to meet Core as of Fall semester 2014. Or you may choose from the 2015-2016 list, or the current list below. If you are following a 2015 curriculum guide, you may select courses that were available to meet Core as of Fall Semester 2015, or you may choose from the current list below. All other students should select courses from the current list.

Students should meet with an academic advisor at least once a semester to stay on track for completion of their certificate or degree.
