LCC Men’s Cross Country team wins back-to-back championships

The LCC Men's Cross Country team lifts the NJCAA Division II National Championship trophy after their November 9 win in Virginia

The LCC Men’s Cross Country team defended their title to repeat as national champions this fall.

The Stars won their second straight Division II cross country title and ninth championship overall. The team finished with 66 points and were the only team with less than 100 points.

Logan Zahn was the top finisher for the Stars with a mark of 25:41.8 and an eighth-place overall finish. Zahn was named the NJCAA Division II Cross Country Runner of the Week by U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, presented by M-F Athletic for the week of Oct. 6, 2024.

“I am very proud of our team,” LCC Head Track Coach Jim Robinson said. “We had a goal from last season to repeat as national champions and the team embraced that goal and put in the hard work to make it a reality. On race day, the team ran nearly a perfect race, running as a team and supporting each other and finishing strong. LCC has a great tradition in cross country and this team did a great job upholding that tradition.”

In true championship fashion, Coach Robinson has been named the MCCAA And Region 12 Coach of the Year.

Congratulations to our Stars!
