LCC will hold its 12th annual Veterans Memorial Induction Ceremony at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, in the Gannon Building Michigan Room. A light luncheon will follow for all attendees.

This year, we will induct Rich Allen, an LCC alum and current employee in Information Technology Services. He is the longest-tenured employee in college history, with more than 50 years of service to students.

Prior to joining LCC, Allen served in the U.S. Army. He enlisted in 1967 and worked in the Army Security Agency, which was part of the Armed Forces Security Agency, the predecessor to today’s National Security Agency (NSA). He deployed to Vietnam in 1968 and spent the next 2.5 years working to intercept and triangulate North Vietnamese and Viet Cong radio and code transmissions. He received an honorable discharge as a sergeant in April 1971, and that fall, he enrolled as a student at LCC. He began his LCC employment less than two years later.

LCC’s Veterans Memorial is designed to honor Michigan veterans, emphasizing those in Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties.
