Lansing Community College

Most courses at LCC have minimum skill level requirements in reading, writing, and/or math that must be met before a student can enroll in the class.

Ways to establish placement levels:

Submit documents: You may not need to take any tests! Placement levels may be established by submitting any of these documents: high school transcript, college transcript, SAT/ACT/AP/GED test scores.

Placement testing: If you do not have sufficient documents (above) or they do not meet the requirements for placement levels, you may need to take placement tests. You may also use a placement test to establish a higher level.

Worried about testing? All tests are untimed so you can take your time and take breaks if you need to. Tests are not pass or fail. There are many resources to use to prepare for testing. It is important that you do your best!
