We are still in communications about the types of internships we will be offering this summer. I have been instructed to Recruit for Accounting, Finance, IT, and Business students interested in living and working in Northern Michigan at our Home Office in Bear Lake, MI. I do have store-level summer positions available as well. I always feel this a wonderful opportunity for students to learn how a larger corporation works at their business base.
What is one piece of career advice you would give lcc students?
As a recruiter, one of my main pieces of advice to give to you is: "Don't put all your eggs in one basket. I landed on my career path by thinking outside the box, to later realize this is my life's purpose and niche. If a position or career interests you outside your specialty/degree, apply anyway; what is the worst that is going to happen? Someone says "NO". No is better than never trying."
How can students connect with you?
Students may connect with me in a few different forms. Email, Phone Call, and Text. (LinkedIn connection will be available later this year.)
Is there anything else you would like to share?
Blarney Castle Oil Co. loves to promote from within. I am also able to transfer students from the LCC are to their Hometowns in the summer months.
Blarney Castle Oil Co. will be at LCC’s Downtown Campus, Career Center – Gannon Building Room 2219, Wednesday, January 24 from 11am – 1pm.
