LCC unveils new mobile education vehicle

LANSING, Mich. – Lansing Community College unveiled its new Mobile Health Education Vehicle.

HHS unveiled the vehicle and welcomed remarks from Senator-elect Elissa Slotkin who was instrumental in obtaining the funding for the project – helping to secure $400,000 through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awards grants.

The vehicle will allow LCC to expand community health education and outreach activities across the college’s five-county service area, increasing offerings for in-person, interactive, and customized healthy living education and awareness activities.

Highlights of the Mobile Health Education Vehicle include:
  • Providing public health and wellness information on topics like oral health, healthy eating, physical activity, exercise, self-care awareness, and more.
  • Hands-on skill labs in conjunction with didactic courses.
  • More interactive K-12 events catered to young people’s curiosity.

LCC endeavors to increase interest in healthcare careers for high schoolers, younger students, and underrepresented students.
