LANSING, Mich. - LCC’s Daisy Speet has been named the NJCAA Division II Cross Country Runner of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association presented by M-F Athletic.
 
Speet won the Lansing CC with ease and covered the 5k Grand Woods Park in 18:38.2 to win by 46.4 seconds.
 
Her closest competitor was from a four-year program and was 55.3 seconds behind. Olivia Ippel, the defending NJCAA DII Cross Country champion was more than a minute back!
 
Speet’s honor marks the fifth time that a female athlete from LCC has been named Athlete of the Week in Cross Country.

About the USTFCCCA
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is a non-profit professional organization representing cross country and track & field coaches of all levels. The organization represents thousands of coaching members encompassing NCAA track & field programs (DI, DII, and DIII) and includes members representing the NAIA and NJCAA, as well as a number of state high school coaches’ associations.
