LANSING, Mich. – LCC’s Michael Dennis has been named the NJCAA Division II Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second week in a row by U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association presented by M-F Athletic.

Last week’s honor was a first for any male athlete from Lansing to be named National Athlete of the Week for cross country.

Dennis has not lost to another JUCO runner in three races this year. At the Sept. 22, Lansing CC Invitational, he earned runner-up honors in 25:20.2 for 5 miles. The Stars finished third as a team behind the NCAA Division II Hillsdale and Davenport, and are ranked No. 2 in NJCAA Division II.

The St. Johns native is described as, “A great student and a very nice, humble young man,” said Cross Country Head Coach Jim Robinson. “Oh, he’s fast too.”

About M-F Athletic
M-F Athletic was established by Bill Falk in 1960 when he developed the M-F Heel Protector (Plastic Heel Cup), a device that covers the athlete's heel area and is worn like a cup inside shoes. It is still used very effectively to absorb blows to the heel. He started a Track & Field catalog in 1968. As years passed, the M-F Track & Field catalog became the leader in its field. Today, M-F's logo, "Everything Track & Field," stands for the largest selection of equipment and the best service in the industry. The company stocks a huge inventory of all major brands and offers same day service on Track & Field equipment.
