Press Release
Join us to celebrate President Robinson's one-year anniversary at LCC
LANSING, Mich. (July 15, 2021) – Lansing Community College's employees will celebrate President Steve Robinson's first year at the college with a virtual event at noon Monday, July 19. Media are invited to join us.
Dr. Robinson's first day at LCC was July 20, 2020, in the early months of the pandemic. Although his first year took place mostly remotely, Dr. Robinson found many creative – and safe – ways to engage and connect with employees, students and the community.
"Serving as president of LCC has been the honor of a lifetime for me," President Robinson said. "This college and its people do so much to help our students find their path in life, and to help the Greater Lansing community grow. I am deeply proud of what we have accomplished in the past year, and I look forward to many more years with this great institution."
President Robinson's career in higher education began at LCC, with a faculty internship on the Downtown Campus. From there, he went on to teach at Mott Community College before becoming provost and then president at Owens Community College in Toledo, Ohio.

Celebrate Dr. Robinson
Leave a message for or share a story about Dr. Robinson.
Dr. Robinson (Steve) is my dear sister's son, my nephew. I have always admired him
and never more so than now. He was a very cool kid and is obviously a great educator
and leader, as well as a super good person. I am so very proud of him. My parents,
his "Maga and Doc," would be too.
