Welcome to the Maya Angelou Training Center! Named after the renown poet, author, and master teacher, Dr. Maya Angelou, MATC provides opportunities of growth, cultural awareness, and understanding.

Using Dr. Angelou's poem, "Still I Rise" as our beacon, which emphasizes that despite the struggles faced, you can rise above them through resilience and unwavering determination as our beacon, the center offers the same grit, tenacity, and commitment to you.

Through our series of RISE certifications, we offer training resources and experiences equipping you to RISE above challenges and circumstances while providing a new lens to cultural awareness and understanding.

Together we will not only redefine Diversity – Equity- Inclusion -Belonging, but empower you through good financial stewardship, equitable development, and belonging. Whether it's you as leaders; LCC faculty, staff, and students; or the community at large, you belong here!

You may shoot me with your words, you may cut me with your eyes, you may kill me with your hatefulness, but still, like air, I’ll rise.

- Dr. Maya Angelou
