This degree provides a variety of opportunities to obtain knowledge and skills related to applied chemistry and the use of a diverse variety of standard lab ware. Emphasis is also placed on oral and written communication skills as well as Math and Computer knowledge.

Overview
This degree is designed for students who intend to study a variety of Science and Math courses and transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a baccalaureate degree in this subject area or related area. Students completing this curriculum will also satisfy the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) between two-year and four-year institutions in Michigan and qualify for an LCC Transfer Studies Certificate of Achievement (1482). Transfer students are strongly encouraged to apply for this certificate along with their degree, as it clearly announces to four-year colleges and universities that the student has successfully completed the MTA.

Pre-Medical Studies, AS
Overview
This degree is designed for students who intend to transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a baccalaureate degree in preparation for application to graduate level health degrees. These degrees can be Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Doctor of Dental Surgery or Medicine (DDS or DDM), Physician Assistant (PA), Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), Doctor of Chiropractic (DC), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).
This degree may also prepare students for a degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. Overview
This degree is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in mathematics, engineering, or a broad range of scientific fields. This Career Community includes the following pathways: Biology, Biotechnology, Chemical Technology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering-Physics, Environmental Technology, Geography, and Mathematics. The degree includes a common set of courses applicable to the Science and Mathematics majors listed above and to many transfer institutions. Students beginning college in this degree program are encouraged to work with academic and program advisors throughout their first few semesters of study to determine their specific major area and, if transfer is a goal, the specific requirements of the transfer institution.
