When you study history at Lansing Community College, you’re studying the story of humanity’s past. Through examining what people have left behind, historians discover clues about why events within our past have happened and how those events molded the reality of our world today. Our students learn to analyze and interpret a multitude of events, write about them, and gain a better understanding of our country and world!

Through the study of history and other liberal arts, the student gains critical skills and an enhanced capacity for informed citizenship, clear thinking and greater awareness. Students of history learn to understand the present through the informed prism of the past and to read, write and communicate with clarity. Classes in the humanities give students a strong foundation in transferable general education courses.
