LCC's Computer Information Technology Program trains you using cutting-edge technologies at the forefront of Information Technology and Digital Mapping. Geospatial Science is a vital part of the IT space and spans many industries - from retail, energy, to logistics, both the private and public sectors - and experienced faculty challenge and prepare you to be competent, field-ready technologists.
Geospatial Science uses information and data to understand people, places, and systems and maps this content digitally. Spatial analysis of human and physical variables is fundamental to Geospatial Science and uses remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems, and Global Positioning Systems technologies as measurement, observation, and analysis tools.

Degrees and Certificates Offered
Geospatial Science Technician, AAS
Overview
Careers related to digital mapping and land surveying have developed into the fast-growing employment sector of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The core of GIS is the global positioning system. Data from demographic information: population statistics, street addresses, phone numbers, and land characteristics can be entered into a GIS database and extracted in the form of digital maps. These maps are used to identify land development patterns, for market analysis, crime statistics, and a host of other digital reports.
