Our program offers elementary-level courses in German, Japanese, and Spanish and intermediate-level Japanese and Spanish, as well as providing cross-cultural information, for students who are preparing to transfer, are dual-enrolled in high school or homeschooled, are seeking to enhance their job opportunities, or want to reinforce their professional language abilities.
Our World Language students can earn a certificate in Japanese Studies or Spanish Studies and the World Language Associate in Arts (AA) degree.
All of our courses are highly transferable to other four-year institutions, and count toward other LCC certificates and degrees.

Communication, Journalism, and Language, GA
Overview
This degree is designed for students wishing to work in a field related to Communication. Pathways included in this Career Community are Communication, Sign Language Interpreter, and World Languages. This degree includes a set of courses common to all majors and all transfer institutions. Students beginning college in this degree program are encouraged to work with academic and program advisors throughout their first few semesters of study to determine their specific major area and transfer institution (if transfer is a goal).

World Language, AA
Overview
This degree is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a baccalaureate degree in the area of World Language in a variety of concentrations or who plan to pursue secondary education certification in a World Language to teach in Michigan public schools. Students completing this degree will also satisfy the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) requirements for General Education between two and four-year institutions in Michigan and will qualify for an LCC Transfer Studies Certificate of Achievement (1482).
