3. Prerequisites

  • Students must be an admitted LCc student who is eligible for registration.
  • Employees - To obtain registration access through Banner Admin, employees must request training from the Registrar's Office;
    • The Registrar will review the request, and approve or deny;
    • If the request is approved, Registrar's Office staff will train approved employees and provide written guidelines to follow while registering and/or dropping students;
  • Employees with registration access will register and/or drop students only within the scope and guidelines of their program/division.

4. Responsibilities

  • Academic Divisional and Departmental Support Staff – Responsible for processing registration and/or drops based on approved exceptions with Registrar’s Office guidance.

5. Procedure

  1. Students must use Banner Self Service to register for and/or drop courses unless an exception applies.
    1. Approved exceptions include, but are not limited to:
      1. requests to add sections outside the defined registration window, with instructor and/or Dean approval;
      2. student-initiated request to drop when a hold prevents the student from the action;

  2. If an employee is authorized to register and/or drop students by their departmental supervisor, they must do so through Banner Admin Pages, not through student’s Self-Service Banner.
