Lansing Community College

A Resolution Addressing Racial Injustice, enacted in June 2020 by the Board of Trustees, set the stage for change at LCC. Since that time, a campuswide commitment to infusing diversity, equity and inclusion into every facet of our organization has been underway, complementing and building upon great work that has already been done.

The resolution directly called upon the president to create and implement an Equity Action Plan. The information and resources found here can assist in building a comprehensive, campuswide diversity, equity and inclusion plan for your college.

Collegewide Engagement

Feedback and engagement is critical. Our Strategic Planning process engages all faculty and staff in reviewing ongoing strategic plan projects and brainstorming new projects to bring the college closer to its goals.

The college has developed a number of programs for faculty and staff to engage with DEI-related topics, discuss ideas and provide feedback, in addition to supporting numerous cross-campus partnerships to strengthen DEI efforts. This is in addition to a plethora of training and workshop opportunities available to students, faculty, staff and the community.

Videos

Video can be a useful tool in communicating vision. Our past and future DEI efforts in Academics, Human Resources, Orientation, Public Safety, and the Mid-Michigan Police Academy were introduced by video. The videos were centered around sharing where we were where we are and where we plan to go.
