If you want to be stronger, do it the right way by stopping into the free LCC student weight room, located in room 1115 of the Gannon Building.
Lab tech Jeff Buchin is available to help students and staff with their fitness goals.
“(We) started a weightlifting program back in 1983,” Buchin said. “I retired, but
I came back and what I do is I run the lab and make sure everybody is safe.”
He explained that powerlifting has been a lifelong passion. He did it for 30 years,
and LCC has welcomed him out of his retirement for students who share his same passion.
“We did 20 years (of) powerlifting competition here at LCC, state and national; won plenty,” Buchin said. “What we’re doing now is kind of recreating the wheel, trying to get that back in motion (with) doing competitions and everything.”
Buchin said after the COVID-19 lockdown, the powerlifting competitions stopped. He said he is hoping to start competitions again soon for students who wish to lift competitively.
