The LCC Office of Military and Veterans Affairs (OMV) is hosting the 12th annual Veterans Memorial event to honor Michigan veterans and nominate individuals who have served in the armed forces.

The event will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10 in the HHS Building Rotunda. Individuals can also attend virtually here on the Veterans Memorial webpage.

“I encourage everyone to attend,” said OMV Director Andrew Cosgrove “The event is open to students, staff, faculty and community members.”

The memorial is designed to honor Michigan veterans, emphasizing those in Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties.

This year, the college will honor two brothers – 2nd Lieutenant Henry W. Lotoszinski of the U.S. Army Air Forces and 1st Lieutenant Edward F. Lotoszinski of the U.S. Air Force – along with a husband/wife pair – Lt. Colonel Robert F. McCauley of the U.S. Army and Sergeant Marie R. McCauley of the U.S. Army (Women’s Army Corps).

The interactive event will include members from across all branches of the armed forces.

“It consists of digital screens, which display the names and images of each veteran who has been inducted,” Cosgrove said. “It also allows individuals to select veteran inductees and play their memorial videos that were created when they were inducted, which provides a short history of the veteran and their service to our country.”

The ceremony will give specific focus to World War II, Korean War and Vietnam-era veterans.

“I always enjoy seeing people turn out for the event and take part in showing their appreciation for our veterans,” Cosgrove said.
