Four out of Five Stars

I had the opportunity to sit down and watch the first episode of a new Peacock original show and it left me wanting to start the second episode immediately.

“The Continental: From The World of John Wick” is an action thriller that follows the character Winston Scott on a search to find his brother after being brought in from London by his father. I watched this on the Peacock streaming app at my home.

The setting of the show is based in the world of the famous movie series, “John Wick.” Even though I not having watched all of the “John Wick” movies I still thoroughly enjoyed the first episode. You do not need to watch all the movies beforehand to enjoy the show for what it is.

In the beginning, the episode was very hard to follow, as we were introduced to multiple characters in quick succession. I had a hard time figuring out who the main character was and I thought it was slow.

Although I thought it started slowly, there was lots of action that kept me entertained and it continued consistently throughout the whole episode.

It was a long episode, having a run time of one hour and 26 minutes. There are only three episodes total, and the other two episodes are around that length as well.

The action scenes are beautifully executed and keep viewers engaged while any of the characters are in combat.

When the story picks up it pulls you in fast and keeps you on your toes. There were multiple times I was surprised during the first episode because the story took a different route than I was anticipating.

Aside from the action, I think the characters are what get you hooked into the story. They will introduce a character and give them their own story arc that makes you want to see how it concludes.

I am excited to watch the rest of this show and get more information about the characters and their backstories. After watching the first episode I will rate the show four out of five stars for now. This may be subject to change after finishing the show.
