Over the years, LCC’s nursing program has grown extremely popular as a cost-effective and good option for future nurses. Torri Boris, a 19-year-old freshman at LCC, is currently enjoying her first year in the nursing program.
“Nursing has always been of interest to me because of various family members being nurses,” Boris said. “The career offers a lot of versatility, which I found refreshing.”
After finishing her degree at LCC, Boris plans on attending a few summer and fall internships to get her started. She said her dream is to work as a pediatric nurse practitioner at either a pediatric clinic or hospital.
“LCC has given me opportunities to progress further down my future path by opening new doors to internships, and the world of nursing in general,” Boris said. “The nursing program at LCC is a major that offers you a plethora of new doors to open; don’t be scared to seek out those doors.”
Away from schoolwork, Boris said she enjoys spending time with friends and family, and loves to enjoy the outdoors. She said she oftentimes will find trails nearby and hike them for miles, enjoying the weather and scenery.
Hannah Eyre, a good friend of Boris, said she loves seeing her friend in her element.
“It’s so great that Torri is following her dreams and doing what she really loves, because not many people are able to do that,” Eyre said. “I’m excited to see her progress and all of her achievements down the line.”
