The LCC counselors are hosting “Surviving Exams and the Holidays” to encourage students to learn healthy coping strategies, connect with the counseling staff and enjoy some free snacks.
The event will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29, on the downtown campus in Gannon Building room 2214. Hot beverages, cupcakes and popcorn will be provided to attendees.
All students are welcome and, although it is primarily for the LCC student body, faculty and staff are welcome to join in.
“Participants can expect to learn strategies to manage stress and also ways to develop their own self-care routines,” said Pam Davis, a licensed counselor at LCC. “During the event, information will be provided, but also participants will be invited to engage in a variety of relaxing activities.”
LCC licensed professional counselors offer free and confidential mental health counseling to all registered students.
Art student Dan Gallagher said the session is a great idea.
“It's important for everyone to know how to properly manage stress in a healthy way,”
Gallagher said. “There are ways to manage stress that don't involve drinking or smoking
excessive amounts of marijuana.”
