LCC’s biannual Starscapes student showcase is open for registration this fall, and students are encouraged to submit work they have been involved in on campus.
This event is an opportunity for students to share research, projects and presentations from classes and independent studies.
Melissa Kaplan, a part of the Starscapes committee said this is a great opportunity for students.
“It’s a great experience, something great for the resume,” Kaplan said. “Plus, you’re already doing the work.”
For example, this past spring, submissions included both physical and digital artwork, history research projects and scientific presentations.
Entries can be physical or online, and must be registered by Nov. 17 by visiting www.lcc.edu/starscapes.
The physical event itself will be held on Nov. 29 and 30 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the Gannon Building Highway on the second floor.
The existing criteria for entries is pretty loose, but is limited to things such as posters, demonstrations, performances, readings, electronic presentations and other formats similar to the theme.
“It’s really exciting to see what everyone is working on,” Kaplan said. “Most of the time we’re all focused on our own work and classes. To be able to see everything that goes on in the college is exciting.”
Students should gather past work or works-in-progress and get a jump on registration. They can share their knowledge and creativity with the LCC community.
