LCC is hosting a StarScapes innovation and creativity showcase in the Michigan Room
of the Gannon Building on the downtown campus. The event will be held from 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 28 and 29.
Students can also present online anytime between Nov. 28 and Dec. 2.
Students who wish to participate will have to register on LCC’s website at StarScapes.
According to an LCC press release, StarScapes is a creativity showcase of unique work. Entries can include projects produced in class or independent work.
LCC hosts StarScapes at the end of every semester. As many as a hundred entries are sometimes included.
Material ranges from science projects and photography to poetry. A list of different materials, as well as a YouTube video of the event, can be found at the StarScapes website.
“It’s a great way for you to get a career head start before you even leave college,” Web Services Librarian Suzanne Bernsten said.
She added that the StarScapes showcase is a chance to celebrate student work.
Students can click here to get a feel of what entries look like. Students' projects will remain online even after the event.
“I would be interested,” LCC nursing major Tuesday Lewis said. “I am not very good at art or anything, but I would.”
All students and groups of students can participate, with the support of a faculty sponsor.
“I really think that's cool,” music major Dominic Simpson said. “It’s giving these creative students an outlet like that, and an opportunity like that, too.”
