The 39th annual Silver Bells in the City event was held in downtown Lansing on Friday, Nov. 18. The event began with the opening of the Silver Bells Village at 5 p.m.
The 26th annual Electric Light Parade kicked off at 6 p.m. with around 60 different lighted floats and music from local high school marching bands. The parade was followed by the lighting of the official State of Michigan Christmas tree.

After the lighting of the tree, Grace West, a former finalist on TV’s “The Voice,” led attendees in a community sing. That was followed by a firefly drone light show, during which 200 drones were synchronized to music.
The event was wrapped up by a grand fireworks display over the Capitol building. Anyone who was not able to make it to the event, or missed the live broadcast, can watch replays of the broadcast on Thanksgiving starting at 7 a.m. and on Black Friday starting at 9 a.m. on Fox-47 WSYM.
Fox-47 will also be replaying the broadcast two times in December, once on Dec. 10 at 4:30 p.m. after the Detroit Lions game, and again on Dec. 24 at 6:30 a.m.
