Shootin' the Breeze: All things photo

I feel honored and thrilled to join the team at The Lookout. It will be exciting to explore a new position and be able to become more involved at Lansing Community College.

I am stepping into the position of the photo editor and will be responsible for everything photo related, including coverage and editing. 

After high school, I decided to take a break and didn’t go to college right away so that I could experience a larger amount of time away from school that wasn’t just a vacation.

The time away from school allowed me time to travel and to make some money, because bills unfortunately do exist. However I am glad to start classes back up again and start pursuing jobs directed more toward my interests.

Photography has always fascinated me. The fact that I can capture and keep a moment in time is so special. I find it extra special to capture those moments in sports. It is always the most rewarding to talk with an athlete and share a photo of a career moment, or just a sweet shot.

Being a photographer also allows me to grow and push my boundaries. I’ve been able to go to new places, photograph new events and get to know new people. Photography is one of those jobs that can be enjoyable professionally and personally. 

Travel is another one of my interests. I love visiting as many places as I can. I have always loved travel and the idea that I could never run out of destinations to find, no matter how many times I went somewhere new. 

I hope this position can take me one step closer to being a full-time photographer. I look forward to learning, growing and meeting more people while being part of the team at The Lookout.
