Review: Sunshine Diner yummy, cozy

The Sunshine Diner is one of Lansing's best-hidden diner gems. This restaurant is everything a diner should be: upbeat, homey, inexpensive, and filled with great food and a kind wait staff.

Located at 1040 S. Pennsylvania Ave., this diner makes a great stop for people who are visiting Potter Park Zoo, located less than a mile away. Sunshine Diner is open every day from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and serves only breakfast and lunch to its guests.

Although small, this place is hard to miss with its bright yellow exterior and red roof. The inside is warm and cozy, and fits what comes to mind when thinking about a "cozy diner." When walking inside, the wait staff greets guests and allows them to pick a spot to enjoy their meal.

Although the menu is small, the food is great. I ordered pancakes and eggs and they were absolutely delicious. They were made perfectly to how I asked.

My boyfriend tried the meat lovers' omelet, which he let me taste, and that was also super yummy. We were completely full at the end of our meal and the check was less than $20.

I highly recommend this cute little diner for anyone who loves to enjoy the morning with some yummy breakfast and a cozy feeling.
