Five out of Five Stars

After the disappointing experience I had at the last ramen place I tried, I decided to give another local restaurant a try.

This time I went to Uni Sushi and Ramen, located at 2843 E. Grand River Ave. in East Lansing.

For the best experience, I opted to dine inside and get a sense of the atmosphere. The restaurant has a nice, ambient vibe to it. It seems to be the perfect venue for any occasion.

The restaurant offers a variety of booths, small tables and family tables, each decorated and set with small plates and chopsticks.

Since my taste buds only crave spice, I ordered the Fire Ramen. I had chicken, green onions, bean sprouts and spicy red strips as my toppings.

The service was amazing, and I only had to wait about 10 minutes for my order to come out. My ramen was steaming hot and looked so appetizing that I couldn’t wait to dig in.

The broth was the perfect level of spice. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and the noodles were exactly what I expected.

Shamefully, I am not a master, or even a beginner, in using chopsticks, which I have heard makes the ramen experience 10 times better, but I shall make my way there, one ramen bowl at a time.

For only $13.99 a bowl this meal is definitely a budget friendly and fulfilling choice, especially on a chilly day.

I’d love to try to broaden my horizons one day and try the other menu options, or maybe even a different ramen recipe.

Honestly, after my first visit, the Fire Ramen has been the only thing I’ve craved. For that I rate Uni Sushi and Ramen a 5 out of 5 stars.
