LCC Performing Arts is showcasing a new play, “Sketch Book,” this Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6 from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre in the Gannon Building.
The play was written by Mark Harvey Levine, one of the most produced writers of short plays. “Sketch Book” is a collection of short stories that coincide with each other all, with the background of a park.
This play includes students who were enrolled in the LCC beginning acting studio. This will be their capstone public performance, so play goers are asked to show support and love for the actors and actresses. According to the play director, John Lepard, many of them are even playing multiple characters.
Lepard said he is excited for the upcoming performance.
“It is about a park and the people who meet there, fall in love, have picnics, break up and generally live their lives,” Lepard said. “I am excited for the actors’ friends and family to see them perform, some for the first time ever.”
Tickets are free for this event for all students, faculty, staff and community members. For more information on the play, visit the LCC Performing Arts website here.
