If you’re looking for a good scare, go see “Evil Dead Rise.” This is the most recent installment from the Evil Dead movie franchise, which now has a total of five films.

It was released in theaters Sunday, April 21 and already has garnered a 7.3 on IMDB. This is impressive considering the average horror movie rating on the website is usually around 5.

Similarly to other “Evil Dead” movies, this movie was filled with gore, jump-scares and a bunch of demons.

The movie starts out with two sisters, Ellie (played by Alyssa Sutherland) and Beth (played by Lily Sullivan) visiting with each other after being estranged for a few months. Ellie has recently gone through separation from her husband and is currently facing eviction from an apartment she lives in with her three kids, Danny, Bridget and Kassie.

Through a series of unfortunate and predictable events, demons are released into the world and immediately choose to inhabit Ellie. Beth and her sister’s kids now have to fight to stay alive while being trapped in an apartment building that has no exit.

For any horror lovers out there, I give this one my seal of approval. This is definitely one of the better horror movies that has come out in a while.
