“Your Place or Mine” is a Netflix original movie starring Ashton Kutcher and Reese
Witherspoon. This movie is one hour and 51 minutes long, and it tells the story of
Peter (played by Kutcher) and Debbie (Witherspoon).
This rom-com movie was released Feb. 10, just in time for Valentine's Day.
Debbie is a middle-aged single mother who lives a middle-class lifestyle in Los Angeles taking care of her son. Peter, meanwhile, is a big success in New York who lives in an expensive apartment.
Peter and Debbie have been close friends ever since a fling they had 20 years ago. Something comes up in Debbie’s life that requires her to stay in New York for a week. Peter offers to head to Los Angeles to watch her son. Debbie stays at Peter's apartment and Peter stays at Debbie's place.
The movie's plot had a lot of potential. However the acting is dull. A lot of scenes made me feel bored, with multiple actors and actresses having little to no expression in their voices. Not only that the movie was very predictable, as most romantic movies are.
All that being said, it was a feel-good movie with a feel-good ending. At times the movie had me feeling good about things, which is a positive.
Unfortunately that's not enough to give it a good rating, IMDb rated it a 5.7/10 and Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 33-percent rating. To me this movie was gets 2.5 out of 5 stars. It was strictly mediocre.
