In the sequel “Spider-man: Across the Spider-verse,” Miles Morales reunites with Gwen Stacy (Spiderwoman) and follows her into a portal, traveling across a multiverse of different Spider-stories.
Released by Sony Pictures, the movie can be found streaming on Netflix, or can be rented on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video.
A two-hour running time of kaleidoscopic animation and fantastic visual storytelling, “Across the Spider-verse” showed no amount of restraint from its talented animators. The film is filled with hilarious visual gags, but still carries weight in its themes around ideas of fate and destiny.
Any original Spider-man fans will find themselves satisfied at the enormous cast featuring Spider-men from many of their favorite comics and movies.
At times, the film could feel almost disorienting at the number of complex visuals per shot. It was very fun to watch but, in some scenes, it was a bit hard to follow.
Besides some noisy animation, the film was an absolute blast. The story has its own unique ideas and storytelling.
It was probably one of my favorite animated films so far this year. I highly recommend it!
