The Lansing Lugnuts are hosting a job fair for the upcoming seasonal staff on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jackson Field, located at 505 E Michigan Ave.
The event was originally scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 18, but was postponed for one week.
The Lugnuts are the city’s Minor League Baseball team, and have been in existence since 1996.
Job seekers must be at least 16 with a valid ID. Job applications must be completed beforehand for an on-the-spot interview. Attendees should also be dressed appropriately for a job interview.
According to Lugnuts Marketing and Fan Engagement Manager Amanda Rich, the following positions will have availability: press box, grounds crew, sous chef, food service, concessions, warehouse, food runners, dishwashers, box office sales, retail and more.
“We will have staff members around to greet faces at the door, (and to) help start and or complete applications, and start smaller, secondary discussions,” Rich said. “These secondary discussions will help the staff members decide which department a specific candidate would be best suited for.”
Rich said the job fair will be set up like an open house. The Lugnuts’ suite level will be open, with a different hiring manager separated by department in each suite. People who are hired on the spot will go down to the main office to get their employee file started.
“We’ll have Lugnuts’ content playing on the videoboard, music and some popcorn and drinks to assist with the excitement,” Rich said. “We are putting our best foot forward on this one in hopes of making a summer job with the Lugnuts fun and cool again!”
