For those who have absolutely no idea what to with their upcoming weekend, here are a few options:
The AfterGlow Market will be popping up in Rotary Park, located at 325 Riverfront Drive in Lansing, from 6 to 10 p.m. There will be all sorts of vendors, foods and activities for people of all ages.
Rotary Park, according to The Lansing State Journal, is a $1.8 million project intended to create a comfortable, shared space for all of Lansing to enjoy. The grand opening was in 2019 but since, many amazing community memories have been made.
So, anyone who is looking to experience the “magic of summer nights” (complete with a lighted, color-changing forest and access to the river), should click here.
For music enthusiasts, there will be Live Music with Jake & Shelby at the Lansing Brewing Company, located at 518 E. Shiawassee St. Assistant General Manager Daniel Tucker said everyone is excited for the show, including the staff.
“They are literally friends of the brewery,” Tucker said. “We feature them as much as we can get them on the books in a calendar year.
“They are a super charming duet that plays anything from ‘These Boots Are Made for Walkin’’ to Johnny Cash. They have a great vibe that really pairs well the aesthetics here at the brewery.”
Anyone with lingering questions should click here or call LBC.
On Sunday, LCC is presenting “La Batterie,” directed by LCC Faculty Member Mike Daniels, in the Dart Auditorium, located on LCC’s downtown campus.
This is the final showing of a beloved percussion concert that started right here in Lansing, all the way back in the 1980s! Unfortunately, Daniels has reached the age of retirement, but wants to go out with a bang!
There will be over 20 drum kits on stage, so, bring earplugs if you are sensitive to loud sounds. Admission to this event is also free but seats often fill up fast, so get there early and help say farewell to one of LCC’s best music teachers.
