America is no longer under British rule, and the annual Independence Day celebration is here! There is a LOT going on around town. Here are a few things you should consider.

Reno’s North, located at 16460 Old US 27 Highway, will host “Jazz & Party on the Patio,” this Friday, July 5. Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets are available here for $20.

Manager Ashley Bellamy said there will be a live performance and all sorts of great deals on fun drinks.

“During Happy Hour, it’s a dollar off all draft sizes, well liquors and wines,” Bellamy said, “We will also have a $3 Smirnoff special – any flavor!”

There will be a Public Planetarium Show on Saturday, July 6 at 8 p.m. at Abrams Planetarium, located at 755 Science Road in East Lansing.

Tickets are $5.50 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens, and $4.50 for children ages 12 and under. It’s a simply must-see show for anyone interested in the world around them.

According to the Abrams Planetarium website, the event focuses on the “exploration of dark matter, from the Big Bang to its anticipated discovery at the Large Hadron Collider.” Click here for more information.

The Ferris Block Party will also be an option for anyone looking to embrace a loving community. It will be held at Ferris Park, located at 534 W. Genesee St., this Sunday, July 7, from 3 to 4 p.m.

The party will be hosted by an organization known as “Love the City,” that strives to make every community member feel loved and at home. Click here to learn more and become a part of the fun.
