Summer weather is in full swing there are celebrations all over Lansing to prove it. So grab someone you love and be a part of the excitement.

To get things started, every Lansing resident should head to Adado Riverfront Park, located at 201 E. Shiawassee St., to be a part of Lansing’s first-ever Fiesta. The event takes place Friday and Saturday, June 7 and 8. General admission is $15 for adults, and free for anyone 10 or under.

Business owners Daniel Ferreyra and Tony Albarez are responsible for putting the event together and said, as business owners themselves, they always look for ways to centralize promotion in the area.

For them, they said this is a long-time vision finally brought to life.

“We are trying to build a platform for other owners to come and showcase what is great about their businesses,” Albarez said. “Daniel and I have been talking about this for years. I am a barber, I cut his hair.

“I’ve been cutting his hair for the last nine or 10 years and, all these years, we have always talked about throwing a fiesta; 2024, we decided to pull the trigger and make it happen.”

Ferreya said there will be something for everybody, and advised the public to prepare for something amazing.

“At the event, we will have over 100 local businesses in attendance,” Ferreya said. “We are going to have live music, dancing, food trucks and a beer tent, so, bring your appetite and dancing shoes and get ready to have a great time at Lansing Fiesta!”

Finally, wind down on Sunday, Jun. 9, with a fun and somewhat-challenging scavenger hunt sponsored by Strange Matter Coffee, located at 2010 East Michigan Ave.

It is described as a “digital quest” on www.eventbrite.com and promises a scenic adventure that will take participants all over town. Each checkpoint is a task or challenge, but each explorer will have a live, remote host to assist.

Tickets are $24 apiece. Two sessions will be held throughout the day; the first will be held at 11 a.m. and the second at 2 p.m. To secure your ticket, click here.
