Hot weather spurs local summer fun

Summer weather has arrived and Lansing is celebrating with an event on nearly every corner!

There will be a Teacher’s Appreciation Happy Hour this Friday, May 24, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Lansing Brewing Company, located at 518 E Shiawassee St.

LBC Manager Keith Terry confirmed that once a teacher has shown either a pay stub or the proper ID, there is indeed a discount offered.

“It’s actually 25 percent off of the entire bill,” Terry said. “They are shaping the minds of our youth. We need them and LBC knows they aren’t getting paid what they should be.”

Lansing Brewing Company is a great place with great people and an extensive menu. So, claim the discount or show your support to an establishment that values education!

The Return of the White Party is scheduled to occur on the Michigan Princess riverboat, found initially at 2607 Bridge St., beginning at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 25. Things are scheduled to carry over until noon on the following day.

This is a night all about paying tribute to the oldies. DJ Butcher has been booked to bring that ole’ magic back. So come aboard and sail away into a night of non-stop Motown, R & B and hip hop.

On Sunday, May 26, an event titled a Spring Taste of Grace will be held at the Grace Boutique, located at 509 E. Cesar Chavez Ave., from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome!

The Grace Boutique is a women’s clothing store that specializes in all things luxury related, and this Sunday is no different. Sample chocolate, French treats, honey and caramel while you shop because, why not?
